Jodie Woodcock

Senior Meteorologist, MetDesk

Jodie is a Senior Meteorologist and joined MetDesk in 2019, with her work focussing on the transport sector, especially that of winter road operations. Aside from the forecasting aspect of her role, she is part of the roads training team at MetDesk, helping to deliver valuable client training on hazardous winter weather and forecasting practices to decision-makers.

Using her degrees in Climate Science and Climate Change attained at the University of East Anglia before joining MetDesk, Jodie works with highway authorities in producing bespoke, comprehensive climate assessment reports to help authorities in route optimisation practices. Her paper, ‘Climate and Isotherm Analysis for Improved Efficiency in Highway Winter Maintenance Operations, Weather Forecasting and Route Planning’ explores the use of climate assessments for any sized highway maintaining authority. This paper has been published by PIARC (World Road Association), with Jodie presenting this at the 17th World Congress on Winter Service, Resilience and Decarbonisation in Chambéry, France, in March this year.
