Ben Towse

Ben began working for ERYC in 2011, installing street lighting. In 2015, he became involved in winter operations as a driver. His passion for winter services led to his promotion as an out-of-hours winter controller in 2018. By 2019, Ben took the leap from tools to office and became an assistant engineer, fully dedicating himself to the winter maintenance team. His deep knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement saw him quickly rise to Senior Engineer in 2022, overseeing the whole winter service. In the same year joined the National Winter Service Research Group (NWSRG) steering group.

Ben’s passion, leadership and innovation have been instrumental in advancing winter service strategies, earning his team national recognition in the 2023 ASPE Innovation Awards and the 2025 Winter Services and Climate Resilience Highways Award. However, his drive doesn’t stop there, as he continues to scope out new ways to advance into the future.
