Graduated from Heriot Watt Uni 20 years ago after spent 4 years with Lothian and Borders Police Road Safety Unit.
Previously an IT trainer having studied Software Engineering (badly) at Edinburgh Napier back in the 80’s.
Spent 20 mainly very happy years with Scottish Borders Council as a road engineer and now leads the rather excellent Traffic and Road Safety team of dedicated professionals.
Career highlights: introduced default 20mph across all 97 settlements with 30ph speed limits in the Scottish Borders to 20mph as part of Spaces for People in 11 weeks during Covid 19,
Twinning St Abbs with New Asgard, designing PiPencil shaped bollards and an amazing scissor collection on display when working from home.
