Chris is a Chartered Civil Engineer who has been with Highways England since its creation in April 2015 and its predecessor Highways Agency since 1999.  Prior to that he worked within the private sector for a consulting engineer (Howard Humphreys / Brown & Root Civil) gaining experience within their traffic, highways and Resident Engineers sections. 

As part of Environment Group, Chris currently has responsibility for co-ordinating all Highways England’s activity focussed on improving the quality of air on the strategic road network especially projects funded using the £75 million ring-fenced air quality designated fund.
