Tony Francis

Independent Transport Consultant, General Air Services

Tony Francis has a long career in and a life-long passion for all modes and forms of transport having started with what is now Transport for London. Subsequently, he served in local government to become Public Transport Planning Manager at Kent CC. There then followed an extensive involvement in rail travel with the DfT. He has also worked for the EU and Passenger Transport Executives.

Tony in particular developed combined transport systems for rural areas where buses performed a variety of tasks developed in conjunction with local community groups such as Parish and Town Councils.  He is currently Secretary of The Omnibus Society and has written in various technical journals.
