Technology and innovation: Key to unlocking the kerbside potential

11:05 - 11:30 ITS (UK) Award Winners
  • Neil will be discussing an innovative solution to address problems that affects the health, economy and the environment caused by the growing and expanding urban set up as more people lives in cities, congestion increases as well as CO2 emissions.
  • As the freight and servicing sector keeps cities working and businesses thriving, it is crucial to mitigate the negative effects of freight, and initiatives implemented and scaled up to reduce emissions, road risk, congestion and miles travelled by freight sector vehicles.
  • A live pilot project will also be demonstrated showing how kerbside management can enable successful cross-modal logistics transfer allowing faster adoption of zero-carbon last mile delivery modes for greener and more sustainable operations. Grid Smarter Cities was awarded “Project of the Year” at the ITS UK Awards last year.
