Irfan has been involved in traffic engineering and then ITS since 1991, having been a member of predecessor organisation TCSU prior to the formation of Transport for London in 2000 He has a broad experience of the field, and has transitioned from his early work in bus priority and MOVA to UTC and latterly SCOOT. He is now Operational Control Manager within the Network Management directorate at TfL, with the remit to develop, align and deliver strategic roadmaps for the technology tools used by TfL to manage London’s road network. A key responsibility for Irfan is the Surface Intelligent Transport System (SITS) programme, for which he is the Asset Owner.
