Traffex bucks trend
Traffex has defied the recession and opened its doors in April almost 9,000 sqauare meters bigger than the previous show. The biennial traffic management and highway maintenance event took place in Hall 5 of the NEC, boasting an increase of almost 100 exhibitors. It welcomed 12,000 visitors over the course of the three days.
Bill Butler, events director of Traffex, told Stand Out:
"Traffex has made a quantum leap this year from 16,00 to 25,000 square metres. This goes against industry trends. The more exhibitors you have on board the more credible the exhibition becomes, and this year we had 100 more exhibitors.
"The NEC hasn't seen such a positive turn out for a long time. Our revamped show branding and fresh new campaign proved successful. The show sold out ahead of schedule in January, so if the market suffered consolidation we had exhibitor's deposits and plenty of time to resell."
